"We can shoot rockets into space, but we can't cure anger or discontent." John Steinbeck
I think that most people should pay more attention to mental health because space traveling isn't as important as someone's mental health. Mental health is more important to pay attention to because there is certain things and people who can help people with mental health problems. Unlike space traveling there isn't really much people who can help you with that, it's something you have to learn how to do. I think taking care of yourself is more important then doing something who knows you'll even get to do or accomplish.

While I am quarantined inside my house, I usually am babysitting my sister or I am on my phone way too much. I am starting to miss school a lot even though I don't really like it. I also really miss my friends, it sucks that I can't see them. Over quarantine break, I dyed my hair and I have listened to every single song I have on my playlist way too many times. I am starting to run out of ideas to keep me not bored. I also have been going outside a lot and taking walks. I really can't wait for the day that we can go back to school so I can interact with multiple people inside of my family.

A New Year

1. Last year was the year of... doing fun things
2. This year will be the year of... learning new things and trying things I haven't tried yet.
3. How can you improve your life for the new year? Do better in school.
4. What was your favorite part about last year... my favorite part about last year was moving into a new house. I enjoyed moving because I got to meet new people. I also liked going on a lot of family trips.
5. What was your most successful story about last year... my most successful story about last year was getting rid of my toxic friends. And staying away from drama.
6. If you could celebrate the new year from anywhere in the world, where would you go? Paris.
7. Describe last year in five words. What do these descriptions mean to you? Stressful, exciting, horrible, boring and toxic. These descriptions mean to me that things happened that changed me.
8. Set three goals for this year and outline a plan for each. My three goals for this year is to get better grades, pass 8th grade and work on my attitude towards other. I'm going to accomplish my goals by working harder.

As the piano starts playing and as the teacher directs us into it,
I feel as if nothing matters to me at that time expect singing. It makes me
believe that no matter how many wrongs there are, there is always a right. It
not only gives me a chance to express my voice, but it gives the whole group a
chance. It taught me that my voice can do so much in a short period of time.
Singing is one of my favorite passions to do.
Singing in general has always
been a huge part of my life. I have been singing in a choir since 6th grade.
When I was little, I sung with my aunt at family events and I still do to this
day. My aunt was in a choir throughout high school and she has been my
inspiration to continue singing. One of my favorite things to do is sing along
with the songs that play on the radio in the car. I enjoy singing because it
gives me a chance to express my voice among others. It also gives me a chance
to sing in front of many people during a concert. Singing has always been a
passion of mine, even though I'm not the best at it.
Singing is a good stress
reliever when you are upset or nervous. When you sing, your body releases
chemicals called endorphins, this chemical makes you feel happy. Singing
improves your mood, and how you feel throughout the day. People who sing are
usually healthier than people who don't. It gives the lungs a workout and makes
us breathe more deeply which makes us take in more oxygen. Singing every day
gives you a higher chance of getting better sleep at night. It also boosts your
confidence on singing in front of others.
Therefore, singing is something
I really enjoy doing. It improves my health and is good for me to do. It gives
me a chance to prove that you could accomplish anything you try your hardest to
do.

My favorite holiday is Christmas because I get to get gifts and see my family. I like Christmas because I get to give other people gifts to open and see their enjoyment in the presents. My family also makes a really good dinner on Christmas and we usually have a bunch of people over. I have multiple Christmas's each year because of my mom's side and my dad's side.

The cow was on his way to work. But before he had to go to work, he stopped by a cafe. He then spent all of his time at the cafe and realized he was late. So he left the cafe and went to work. On his way to work, he heard the sirens of the police and found out he was getting pulled over. He was going speeding fast like a horse so that's why he got in trouble. When the cop walked up to the car, the cow found out that the police officer was a poodle. The poodle then left the cow go because he had a good reason why he was speeding.

Honoring veterans is similar to breathing; you must do it every day. Veterans day is only once a year, but veterans aren’t just fighting for our country on that day. They fight for our country everyday, that is why they should be honored. That is not the only reason though. There are multiple reasons why. It is important to honor veterans every day not just on Veteran’s Day.
One reason is that they risked their lives for our country and our freedom, so they deserve more respect than just one day a year. They have fought in multiple wars and have died for us. Veterans risk their lives so that we can have a happy life and not worry about whether we will be taken over by another country. Right now there are currently 18.8 million veterans representing our country and keeping us out of harm's way. In World War 2 405,399 veterans died alone. Memorial parks help us remember the sacrifices their families had to make to protect our freedom.
Another reason veterans should be honored everyday is, because it takes a lot of courage to be one. They must be away from their families for a long time. Not only that, but they live in overcrowded, substandard housing. They must deal with the fact that they might never see their family again. Also, have had to face seeing multiple people they knew die and fought along side of die, but they had to keep going and they could not stop. The veterans had to suffer through traumatic stress disorder, brain injuries, and major mental-health issues while they were fighting and after. They need to be honored every day to show that we appreciate their courage and bravery, and everything they must face just so we can be a free country.
One more main reason veterans should be honored is because of what their life is like afterward. After they get out of the military they have a 50% more of a chance to be homeless than normal people. They have to live with everything they have ever seen from the previous wars. They could develop fears from what that they had seen or heard in the war. For example, they might develop a fear of fireworks because they sound like bombs. They may suffer from PTSD, survivor's guilt, depression, and addiction abuse. For some veterans returning to civilian life is like another challenge for them. For example starting a new career path, locating a new home, understanding things may be different from the military. They have to reconnect with their family and learn things that happened while they were gone and they will have to adapt to the new way of living. Because veterans may have a hard life after they get out of the service, they should be recognized every day for what they might have to go through.
The main thing to take away from this is that veterans are important to our lives. Veterans have done so much for our country they deserve more than just one day a year. Everyone should be thankful for all that veterans have done, whether it was in the past, the present, or they haven’t fought yet. Everyone should be thankful because of their courage, bravery, and sacrifices they have had to make for us and for their families.
